Re-learning painting
It's been a while since I've painted miniatures. I've been playing Warhammer 40k quite for some time, but I've never been a good painter. And last 4-5 years I even never touched a brush. But now I'm re-united with my hobby, and I'm trying to catch up with all the new techniques and products.
One of the big and pleasant surprises was Contrast paints. I've heard about them, but I've never tried. My first experience with them was disappointing. I've tried to paint a Dark Angel Space Marine with them, and it was a disaster.
However, I'm not giving up. I found two key points to improve my painting with Contrast paints:
- use slapchop to make good base for the painting
- thin contrast paints with medium
Well, still a lot of work to do, but I'm happy with the result.
P.S.: not a word about mold lines.
