Few years ago I tried 3d printing, and it was a disaster. I had a cheap printer, and it was a pain to use. I was not able to print anything that I wanted. I gave up and never tried again. Until now. As you might have noticed, I'm trying to reunite with my WH40k hobby. As a nice side effect my kiddos want to have their own armies as well. But you imagine how 3 and 4 y.o. kids playing with miniatures. And they want everything I have. So instead of buying them their own armies, I decided to print them. I bought Anycubic Monochrome 4k printer. It's a resin printer, so it's not as fast as FDM printers, but it's much more precise. And it's much easier to use.
I did not expect much, but I was surprised. I printed a few miniatures, and they look great. Like really, really great. GREAT. I did not expect that. I was expecting to print something that will be good enough for kids to play with, but not much more.
It took me one day and about 400 ml of resin to learn how to adjust settings, but first real print was a success. I printed a few more, and they all look great. I'm really impressed.
So, here are some pictures of my first prints I made for kids. I'm not proud of painting though. You know, having kids on your back who wants to play it RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW... It took me approx 30 min for both, so not really focused, but details of print...
